Wesley Ellis was born in the trailer-park, swampland area of Florida and left home with One Hundred and Forty-Seven dollars and sixty-three cents of a week’s worth of tips from working at the local Shoney’s.

On the musicians website he states “With a twenty year old particle board acoustic guitar, some grocery bag suitcases and a 1987 Buick I bought from someone at a donut shop at 3am I drove over to my childhood friend’s house and we left. “

Some of the song which Wesley wrote came from a period of time when he was not doing very well financially as a musician. Therefore the music translates and words tell stories as well as send messages inspired by his emotions along with experience during those trial times.

According to his website again “I wrote these songs with what I was feeling at the time, which was being broke of course, but that it wasn’t the end all… but that our generation was lost and lacking a clear path for future careers and relationships. “Destiny is Make Believe” was pointing out how ridiculous it was that now that the nation was on a down stroke, it was up to our generation to fix it… that it was our destiny. Though we didn’t know how we got there in the first place, it was the previous generation’s issues to begin with. Most of my friends my age were still trying to figure out where to be a month from then.”

When “The Sound” opened in Charlottesville, VA in August of 2009 and Wesley was able to complete his first four songs there. From this place the entire album was created. He met with James McLaughlin and Mark Graham and we got other musicians in to make his music project a true, full album. The cost for the music project took a total of around $17,000 dollars of the musicians own expense and nearly three years to finish.
