Lecrae is one of the musicians that inspired me to write some very inspirational hiphop music aside from me singing and writing poetry majority of the time. A lot of people have no idea that I can actually rap, but I do not rap anything fake or gangsta. I write lyrics that are either romantic or inspiring. Lecrae’s single “FAKIN” feautring Thi’sl is a message to all of the fake rappers out there rapping about things that they don’t really have. I guess as a singer I could write music only about sexing women or being the best in bed, but why fake that even. I prefer to write about real life situations and narrate musically stories inspired by others lives.

The song by the hip-hop gospel/Christian well recognize rapper is in a way a song to make aware to a lot of people who listen to the mainstream rappers in the industry and think the fantasies which they rap about are real.

I have heard stories of rappers renting certain vehicles like a Rolls Royce when they are in a town and claim that it is theirs and that they paid for them cash. Faking it to make it is not an option for me in anything that I do; faking it until you make it may work for some, but not for everyone.

The music video to the song “FAKIN” by Lecrae also illustrates some humor by an actor who demonstrates some of the background work the rappers do to fake the lifestyle some see in their music videos. From video productions and even photo-shoots illustrates something false that some musicians get so egotistical over.

Though the song is about not overly boasting and pretending something that one is not. Lecrae also express his faith through the music in a unique way; which is revealing and at the same time a great demonstration that music does not have to always be false in order to be great.

The exposure that some of the musicians faking their lifestyle get versus an artist like Lecrae or other rising musicians that use their true life stories or tell narratives of others is unbalanced. At the same time I guess we do live in a world where the mass wants to see something they would like to accomplish one day visually, a fantasy and a dream lived by others in order to build their drive or hope.
