 Lost In A State Of Ecstasy

Ever felt in love or was in love with someone who was not good for you? No matter how hard you tried to love that person it just would not work. I sort of experienced this state of “love”, which was somewhat of a dilemma internally. After a while it was just what it is… I came to my senses, but this is a poem I wrote in about ten minutes inspired by the thought and idea.

Lost in a paradise full of ecstasy

So when I inhale this numb feeling overtake me

Illusions formed from my mind manifest into this vague reality

Lost in a state of tranquility

When I think of love; I have hopes that you would be the one I see

Vivid images run through my mind like a motion wheel

I create these imaginary moments of us that never existed, but feel so real

So I am lost in a state of fantasy

I fantasize about you as if you are that drug that I can’t get enough of

Minutes, hours, days to weeks not speaking to you send me into withdrawals

So as a twitch like a crack-head I think of you and peace over take me

You are my disease

You are my drug

You are my addiction

You are my downfall

You are everything that’s bad that I love

Lost in a state of denial

You are that sin that I refuse to let go

Thinking that you are my cure and remedy to cope with life

I say to myself that you have to be the one for me

I wrestle with an internal conflict that never ends

Fighting with myself trying to convince my conscience that you are the one

Lost in a state of hallucination

When I wake up I see you looking at me with you deep striking eyes as we lay down

After I close my eyes to kiss you, you then vanish

In a state that I hate

For through it all I still cannot get over you

My life’s biggest lesson or biggest mistake
