Omaha Fashion Week’s Ready To Wear fashion show as another classic moment from the many shows that have taken place over that past years since the event first launched in 2008 by producers Brooke and Nick Hudson.  The fashion show featured designs that were meant for casual, but with a hint of class and urban direction in styling.

The following designer Amanda Valentine is an already accomplished design who is still continuing to make much noise in the fashion industry.  The designs that Valentine creates  under her brand Valentine Valentine are hybrid of references. According to her website she combines international culture and marries pop culture (her Fall/Winter 2012 Collection was named “French Medieval Fly Girl”).  This concept for her is a natural trajectory from earning her degree in Clothing, Textiles and Design.

How did her career or vision for fashion begin?

The creative fashion designer’s professional career in Wardrobe Design began while she was living in the city of Los Angeles; while on the set of her brother’s first music video—Maroon 5’s Harder to Breathe. The scope of her work has since grown to include television, major international commercials, and after relocating to Nashville in 2007, a growing list of Nashville artists and musicians.

Her designs are modern, strong, and flow with patterns as well as cuts that make each piece she compose unique marking her signature style. There is no doubt that the style that she designs the dresses in can be confused or unrecognizable. Being among the designs on the Project Runway show Amanda Valentine graced Omaha Fashion week with something special from her line and each dress that were showcased were marveling to view and look at as each one of the gorgeous models selected by the OFW Team represented her line.

Don’t think for a second that fashion is the only skill that Valentine have. In her Q&A on the Lifetime page for Project Runway, when asked about her past jobs she answered “My first job was making pizza. I’ve always worked retail as well- Hot Topic, the Limited, American Apparel, then smaller boutiques. In college I worked as a makeup artist and janitor (ying and yang!). In LA I worked as a sales and marketing coordinator for a shoe company.”

Although currently her online store is closed and I highly doubt she have time to do any commissioned fashion design work aside then what the Project Runway show require of her, Amanda Valentine’s designs and portfolio can be followed through her website and social networks.  I briefly had a chance to meet her during fashion week and her energy/spirit is bright.
